What To Look For In A Good Energy Healer
Sometimes I can live in a very naive world. One where I think everyone who calls themselves a “healer” has the same standards as I think they should. I was floored by my latest experiences to realize that its not so. This is when I really started to look at other healers and their values…. Let me take you on a personal journey…
I went into a metaphysical shop to purchase a crystal and I held two different shapes of the same type stone in each hand. I was deciding if I wanted the heart shape or the sphere.
A healer practitioner walked in and noticed my stones. He said without knowing me at all, “Go with the heart one.” I gave him a strange look and he said, “I know this stuff. I’m psychic.”
In that moment he tried to take away my personal power. He was implying that I didn’t know intuitively how to listen to my own inner guidance and that his knowing was better than mine. Uhm, wrong jerk.
TIP #1
A good healer will never tell you what to do. Nope. Instead they will guide you and assist you in making choices in your highest good. Lay out the options and benefits of all. Show you the way but never tell you the way.
TIP #2
Don’t be afraid to ask questions. A good healer will have extensive knowledge how their niche works. For example, I work on chakras with crystals. I can pretty much answer any question you may have regarding both areas and if I can’t, I’m not afraid to admit that too. But the first thing you will notice when you speak with me is that I am well-rounded with information. Your healer should be knowledgeable. When you ask, “What does a wide chakra represent?” They should know. I went to a crystal reiki session and the practitioner didn’t know any of the crystals she was using. This was a red flag for me. How can she assist me in my journey if she doesn’t understand her job?
TIP #3
Make sure the session is about you. I paid for an hour psychic session. She talked about herself the.whole.time. I wondered if I was even there. Now, I will admit, I talk about my life however as specific examples to help people see other perspectives. I don’t however, just talk about me. No way. They are at the session for them. A good practitioner will not only talk about themselves, if they do, get out. You’re not the focus.
TIP #4
An awesome energy healer will always and forever be improving and evolving themselves. They are not afraid to say they are working on themselves because they know, without ego, we are all transforming and evolving to our higher selves. You want someone who is improving themselves and walking the walk they lead.
TRUTH IS: Anyone can call themselves an energy healer because in fact, we are all healers.
Energy healers specifically do not have to be established by an institute. Only verified by a teacher who certified them. So Tip #5 is a big….
TIP #5
A good energy healer will have plenty of experience and testimonies to prove their work. Believe me, people talk and there will be a following if you are good. What pulls most people apart is their experience. Are they part-time? How long have they been committed to this line of work? Clinical experience is KEY. With experience an energy healer will gain valuable teachings. For example, what does burning in the hands mean verses prickling sensations? What happens when a crystal vibrates on the body? What does it mean when the practitioner feels sick while giving a session. All this comes with experience. Be sure to ask. Do they know how to shift an energetic block? They may be compassionate and kind but they sure have to know what they are doing!
Screen your energy healer as you would screen your doctor. Don’t be afraid to check out their credentials, experience, and even their own personal emotional state. Your energy is really important and in the hands of someone.
And a final last tip:
TIP #6
How often did your energy healer recommend you to see them? You as a client should not feel dependent on your energy healer. In fact, a good energy healer should be empowering you. Unless there is a major physical issue (example cancer) a practitioner should not see you weekly. When this happens, its creating a co-dependancy on the client/healer relationship and not affective in assisting you in your healing process. Not to mention that healing sessions can take weeks for a break through to occur. If your healer suggests they must see you weekly, feel free to understand why.
Please don’t be afraid to ask. We are all at different stages in our professional lives, so ask questions to see if you are in alignment with your practitioner.
